Camp has lodging included for Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. If you aren’t one of the few lucky ones who live in the area, you will likely arrive on Thursday and need a hotel for the night. These are just a few suggestions, obviously you can stay wherever you choose! I’m giving suggestions for Austin but you can search for San Antonio options if you decide to fly into there. If you are flying in alone and would like someone to share the cost of the hotel before and/or after camp, post on the Nail Camp US facebook group message board – there are ALWAYS people that are new, know NO ONE, and would love to share the costs of the hotel and rental car.
There are a few options that I searched for you and I’ll put those links below. They are the best quality for the a good price.
If you are flying into Austin and someone driving in is picking you up Friday morning and you just need a hotel near the airport, The Wyndham Microtel has the highest reviews and still around $100. It includes an airport shuttle. CLICK HERE to check it out.
I’m including TWO hotels I sourced for OFF Airport locations.
OPTION #1 – Downtown
If you are flying in but taking my suggestion about renting a car AWAY from the airport (SOOO Much cheaper!!), grab an uber to this hotel which is near downtown where you can grab your rental car. TIP – get the car Friday morning!! You don’t want to have to park downtown, and there are little scooters EVERYWHERE so you won’t need your car to get around. Rentals starting on Friday morning will save you a whole day in costs. Download the Lime app and get it set up before you get to Austin and you will have a fabulous time cruising around downtown on the scooters!
This is the least expensive option downtown that I found, at around $150. Not bad, and very close to all the stuff going on down there. Get off your flight, take the uber or lyft to your hotel. Drop your bags and have a fun night before you grab your car in the morning and head to camp. CLICK HERE for the link to the Extended Stay near downtown.
Option #2 – Oak Hill Area
The Oak Hill area of town has Target, Walmart, Costco and Best Buy – so if you need some shopping it’s a good place. Camps never have sodas so if you would like some drinks you would want to get them before you come.
There are quite a few rental options. Enterprise will actually pick you up so its very nice for a situation like this.
This Extended Stay is quite central and only $144 including tax. CLICK HERE to see.
